To me unless you are completely brain dead!

The answer just is so simple.

Two choices:

They are  just so incompetent which I think is not possible

or

This was all done on purpose to allow GF ( always my first choice) to take over POET on the cheap and all the good old boys go back working with GF as before!

But of course much richer!
