The Russia QuestionFor those who didn’t know QNC applied for patent protection in Russia, all I can say is to do your due diligence in the future. For those of you who think this patent application is troubling, stop watching CNN it’s messing with you. There is no harm in asking for protection in any country. Getting protection in Russia and China means that other entities cannot get this protection, unless they buy the rights from QNC (I will expand on this later). This Russian and Chinese patent protection only becomes an issue if QNC decides to work with Chinese or Russian entities, be it corporate or government. Should this happen, QNC can kiss any deals with the US or EU goodbye. Back to the rights issue, QNC can profit off of companies in the future with QRNGs looking to deal with Russia/China by charging them for using pieces of their patented process. Furthermore, this protection gives added value to QNC when signing deals in The West. For example, since QNC would have protection in Russia/China, no company can sell a QRNG in those regions that defies QNCs patents, so Western companies may end up paying a premium for this protection. I would say these rights guarantee safety from the Russians/Chinese, but China’s intellectual property theft totals hundreds of billions of dollars. To conclude, don’t fret unless QNC signs a deal in China and/or Russia. All is well for now.
