Robex to commence drilling on two Mali gold pMONTREAL, Apr 12, 2006 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) --
Robex Resources Inc (TSX.V: RBX), announces that the 2,000 m AC/RC drilling program will be initiated in mid April on its Sanoula and Tintiba properties. The Sanoula and Tintiba permits are located between the Sadiola and Loulo world-class gold mine, in the Kenieba Valley, western Mali, overlapping the Mali-Senegalese tectonic structure. A location map of the projected drilling sites is available on the Robex website at www.robexgold.com.
Sanoula and Tintiba properties
------------------------------
Between 15 to 40 holes will be drilled over anomalous gold areas located along an N005 degree structure in the central part of the Sanoula permit. The area is underlain by tourmaline sandstone similar to the metallogenic environment of Loulo. In Sanoula, this rock is highly fractured and cut by quartz veins, which shows sulphides and boxwork structures (leached pyrite).
Similarly, between 15 and 40 holes will be drilled over areas strongly anomalous in arsenic, close to an intrusive body located in the eastern side of the Tintiba property which is north and adjacent to the Sanoula property. Former drilling activity carried out by the French BRGM (Bureau de Recherches Geologiques et Minieres) is observed in the area. It should be noted that arsenic is a trace element in gold exploration.
Diangounte property
-------------------
The drilling program on the Sanoula and Tintiba properties will be followed by a drilling program on the Diangounte property located 25 km South West of the Sadiola mine. The objective of this drilling campaign will be to identify the primary gold source that fed the La Corne placer located in the south central part of the permit.
Gold digging activities have been continuously increasing over the last months within the permit. According to unofficial information, there are presently a total of 4,000 to 5,000 gold diggers on the permit.
