RE:RE:Canadian Dollar strength

RE:RE:Canadian Dollar strengthSo who is going to cut interest rates first and when?

PS
Brazil's central bank lowered its benchmark interest rate by 50 basis points in Dec to 11.75% -- its fourth consecutive rate cut.  I don't any investor that bought or sold Petrobras based on that.

We had roughly 15 years of the US, Chinese, Japanese, EU playing games around currency / rates.  You did not need a finance degree to realize negative rates were a stupid idea.

You also don't need a finance degree to realize our CPI is so messed up it doesn't make any sense.  It doesn't correlate to many long range series like house prices, debt, money supply.

Example: CAD currency in circulation should be dramatically decreasing as more and more purchases are electronic.
Is it?
What has it been since 2008?  If I order through Amazon can I pay cash?
Look at currency in circulation.  Does it make any sense?

Hate to say it but CPI macro garbage in = garbage out.
