I think they already have a good idea of the results from preliminary testing on hole one.  As they drilled they probably conducted drill stem testing and got a good indication of the helium present in the mud.  The fact they spent the money to case the well is a good sign but not conclusive.  I would have thought they would have released more data than they did to keep the hype ...more

IIrc correctly the deadwood is below the hydrocarbon zones...so casing the well would be a regulatory requirement and would have been budgeted into AFE. I don't know whether they would have drilled monobore to target after running surface casing, or ran an intermediate casing string first. Regardless they may have been able to get some idea of He content via gas cromat analysis while drilling  ...more
