RE: RMC Depth of Strike

RE: RMC Depth of Strike

Jezzanzuk,

first of all you need to realise that the company has two particular styles of Cu-Au mineralization present:

  • Porphyry Cu-Au +/-Mo
  • High-sulfidation Au-Cu +/- Ag & As

The porphyry mineralization which they have interescted at a depth of ~1,400m and deeper is uneconomic in todays climate, 0.3-0.4% Cu equivelent will not work at that depth as you'd need to shaft down to ~2,000m and start a block cave or sub-level cave there.  the economics just wont stack up at these prices.

It is the High-sulphidation mineralisation, that which they have from 500 - 800m below surface which is of importance.  This is the exceptionally high grade material which we are all excited about.

At the moment you are looking at a mineralization envelope which is 100-250 deep, 50-150m wide and +500m long, a very nice project!!  grade seams to vary from a percent upto 10% for the highest.

So, forget the porphyry mineralisation, it has very little value to RMC, only to Freeport.

regards

TS
