RMC Depth of Strike

I was wondering  if anyone has any information they could share on typical depths of copper strikes on sulfide and porphery deposits in bankable/ active cu/au mines. The RMC mineralaisation strikes are at depths starting at  430mts with continuity to 1200 mts plus. While I've read that porphery deposits can occur/ continue as deep as 6 miles, (but often with erosion having removed a great degree of the top cover and exposed the deposit) are there any examples of oyther operating mines out there with strikes at similar depths? A 400-  500 mt depth of top cover to remove before you hit paydirt seems a lot of rock to move. Is RMC typical or at the wrong end of strike depths in this regard? And how would this factor in on the CapEx costs for developing the property? Again, are there any examples of similar Projects anyone can steer us towards? Still think RMC is a solid hold pending further results but any discussion on the above would be welcomed. Thanks in advance.

Jezzanzuk, first of all you need to realise that the company has two particular styles of Cu-Au mineralization present: Porphyry Cu-Au +/-Mo High-sulfidation Au-Cu +/- Ag & As The porphyry mineralization which they have interescted at a depth of ~1,400m and deeper is uneconomic in todays climate, 0.3-0.4% Cu equivelent will not work at that depth as you'd need to shaft down ...more

7he, Thanks for the response. I do understand the different mineralisation strutures, albeit on a basic level, so excuse my poor wording. You mentioned in an earlier post (been trawling back thru posts, was on holiday with no internet when the announcement came on 09.04) that-  'I think one of the most interesting facts is holes 1332, 1329, 1333 and 1331, these are a long way from the ...more

At the depth they are lookng at it will definitly be underground. both for the porphyry and HS   the four "regional exploratory" or outlier holes I assume are targeting a geophysical target, could be HS or porphyry. I hope HS   Unless any porphyry is discovered at or very close to surface it could be a struggle, the grades of porphyry's in the region are only ~0.4%Cu or so ...more
