RE: What made RSG go to 30 cents in 2003 ?it's African gold and diamond properties: they were talking 800,000 oz of gold at Bakoudou, and diamond production at Mandala was supposed to create cash flow.
there were about 1/3 the number of shares outstanding.
there was also a substantial amount of insider buying taking place during that time frame.
suffice to say, neither the diamond nor the gold stories could sustain the prevailing hype at that time.
RSG was compelled to farm out half the action on Bakoudou and Mandala, and they began to acquire interests in additional gold plays.
all the while, the price eroded from a peak of 0.37 to bottom of 0.07 .
that said, the price of gold is currently about 50% higher than at the beginning of 2004, Mandiana looks "interesting", Belleterre "should" be able to hit some good intercepts, and "perhaps" the 800,000 oz purported ounces at Bakoudou will amount to more than a hill of beans.
I've re-acquired a small position in RSG on the off-chance that they can finally get their act together.
