RE:RE:RE:2.5c ?? RUM To Sell Weed In Liquor Stores //huffingtonpostCan RUM sell cannabis in their liquor stores? Maybe not. It's complicated, highly regulated. Firstly, apparently a business licensed to sell cannabis can only sell cannabis. Regarding non-cannabis items,
according to the aglc.ca website, "Only approved cannabis accessories are allowed for sale". That would seem to exclude alcohol. Furthermore, the business must have its own shipping and receiving area "that is separate from other businesses". Also, the
Retail Cannabis Store Handbook outlines additional restrictions. The Cannabis store must be "a separate business from any other commonly-owned or affiliated business (non-cannabis store)", including having separate employees.
That said, my bet is that, with the advice of a lawyer, this might be made to work using a store within a store model. Can anyone point to an on-line reference of a single Alberta retail location selling both alcohol and cannabis?
