Respect Your Universe

Respect Your UniverseRYU is about 3.5 years into their business plan to build a long term sustainable brand which takes ‘approximately’ 10 years. They are on the eve of opening a new location on Melrose Place and another store in the new year in San Diego. There has been a lot of growing pains for sure as to be expected with any new brand. RYU continues to grow its revenue and is above other pre-profit companies when compared to on a percentage basis. Phase 1 was their bricks and mortar locations (11 total when including the aforementioned new California stores) and now they have entered Phase 2 which is now controlling costs, building brand awareness by continuing to build on community/customer relationships while increasing revenue, gross and ultimately net profit. They have done a lot of exceptional things and are well received by the media and received a plethora of awards. They run their inventory as it’s better to have one item less than one item too many, which is a philosophy I believe in as well. Unfortunately that just has not been reflected in the sp “yet”. This has all the potential to break out big in due time but of course there is no such thing as a crystal ball, do the best you can with due diligence. If you’re ever going to take a chance on a start-up company full of upside that’s now gone through 3.5 years of growing pains, why not at $0.03 is the way I rationalize it. GLTA
