RYU is earning profits

The stock is definitely not responding the way we would like it to but RYU is making profits. RYU Apparel reported 31% higher revenues at $1.5 million for the three months ended June 30, 2019. For the first half of 2019, the company reported 32% higher revenues at $2.7 million compared to the same period the year before. Notably, the company was able to maintain growth in sales year-to-date while the gross profit margin for the quarter ended June 30 clocked 49%.

aren't you embarrased to even say the word profit? On what planet are they making a profit?
Comment by Sal1958 on Nov 09, 2019 3:15am
had2chimeIN we can say that their margins from manufactured costs to selling price will generate a profit. They are having a 40% sell off on their 2019 inventory, while waiting for the 2020 inventory to arrive. If u go on their Web site most the product is selling out. This is a good sign. Next week will be a good week for NR.

Over five years, RYU Apparel grew its revenue at 41% per year. That's well above most other pre-profit companies.
Comment by had2chimeIN on Nov 09, 2019 12:38pm
over the same time they opened 8 stores! God you guys are so frustrating with your cherry picked numbers. What did the revenue increase PER STORE?! Seriously man I want this company to succeed but you all look worse when you say these kind of things. Investors aren't dumb. There's NO MONEY BEING MADE AT ALL.
Comment by Riddler76 on Nov 09, 2019 1:03pm
@Chime didn't realize you had an advance copy of the upcoming earnings. Anything else you care to share? Do you ever have factual numbers because that would help us all out a lot more if you did. Let's just wait for the earnings, then have an analytical discussion about the facts, figures and profitability status.

Riddler...not sure why you’re taking shots at Chime. Can you accurately read a report or balance sheet, or are you just trying to spin things? Margins and earnings per share are quite different beasts. To suggest the company is making a profit is either ignorant or disingenuous. So far Chime’s analysis has been pretty accurate, and that’s been reflected in the share price.  I’m looking ...more

@gairvine balance sheets are presented and r accessible each quarter . They are all showing forms of growth. No one on this board is either ignorant or disingenuous. We have not seen any concrete information from chime to support his accusations which are not appropriately discussed. The next set of Earnings will give us a clear picture of the performance of the 9 stores and the on line sales. At ...more

@gairvine I noticed you are conveniently absent when Chime takes shots at myself and others on here. Didn't realize you were his security. Your pathetic attempt within your condescending tone suggesting I cannot read and your misguided accusation of me spinning things is hardly impressive and not remotely close to being accurate either. Call me ignorant, disingenious or whatever else I could ...more

well that got ugly. And yes I think it's perfectly acceptable to say that someone claiming that the company is "profiting" is being disingenuous. Furthermore to state that sales have increased 41% year over year without acknowledging that costs have gone up even more in the same time is misleading. That's all that needs to be said really. I'm sure you're all really good ...more

If you're going to quote me, please do so accurately. That's a fair request. I NEVER said "profiting" as you put in quotations. I said RYU grew its revenue higher than most OTHER pre-profit companies. This absolutely acknowledges there are other factors because it's in the pre-profit category. So lets break this down since you and gairvine are so inept and like to call me ...more

you mad bro?
Comment by gairvine on Nov 10, 2019 2:28pm
Morning,      Apparently I have offended a couple folks here so I will take a second and clarify. Riddler...my comment regarding profits was directed towards WHOA stocks who stated that RYU was making profits. I was not clear on this. You clearly stated pre-profit. My bad...apologies. Having said this, pre-profit currently means money losing. I’m sure we can both read balance ...more

gairvain true the company is not making a profit. Have a look at 3-5 year old starts ups and u can count the ones that are making a profit. Re: Same store sales. Difficult to evaluate stores that have only been opened 6-7 months. This could only be done on the oldest stores true. I have spoken with IR and asked about the Metrotown stores sales. They told me the store is done well. Re 3rdQ results. ...more

@Sal I echo your sentiments of moving on from the past and focusing on the present and future. With that said, the past has left us in the current state with a dilution of shares. I do suspect a rollback is in the forseeable future. If I had to guess, in the range of 10 to 1. I'm still however very positive and patient about going long with RYU. Looking forward to reviewing and collectively ...more

@Riddler 76 I agree a rollback of 10-1 is needed. If this is done and a strong financier with apperal experience were to be added to the mix. This would be the icing on the cake for the turn around. I am also very positive and patient going long with RYU.

Why jump so quickly to a split? You'll scare away investors in an instant, while confirming the mismanagement of the company. The VERY last resort should be a reverse split, why not ride it out until profitable, then introduce a share buy back? I'm strongly against a split, I've owned a few stocks that have, the outcome has never been positive.
Comment by mba123ccu on Nov 14, 2019 8:02pm
IMO this makes a lot of sense. Same here too, owned a few stocks and seen a few stocks that reversed split and they're struggling or worse off than before the split.
