RYU more Cost Cutting

Metrotown store not on RYU web site. If you google BC locations, you will get west 4th, thurlow and park royal.

is it not their responsibility to announce these sort of things?
Comment by Sal1958 on Feb 05, 2020 12:12am
Good question had2chimeIN. It might probably be part of the pp due date announcement tomorrow. They can do and announce later. This is a cost cutting measure desperately needed. This to me is a good sign. I want to see more of this moving forward that will include not just the closing of non potential profit making brick and mortar but innovative cost cutting in thier apperal manufacturing ...more

Called it.  Next to go will be thurlow, then the rest of the East Coast stores, then potentially some west coast stores (west 4th should go as it's in a horrible location and barely on the "west 4th retail strip." )  Necessary measures to reduce costs.  Positive to see the company make these difficult moves, but it's not like they had a choice.

so at what point does lack of announcement on the financing become concerning? Couple hours?
Comment by Sal1958 on Feb 05, 2020 6:58pm
had2chimeIN sounds like you must still be in. To me this is not following the story. As for the due date time, I believe it runs for the whole of Feb.05th if needed. We have not got anything saying it's not going to come. We will get the info later today. I am with everyone excited to see where we will be headed. Difficult sitting on the side line waiting. We got there is a consultant, they ...more

Maybe the placement wasn't a sure thing like some may have believed. Anyways, RYU just needs to close all underperforming stores (probably another 75% of their remaining locations), find and focus on a target market (the regular gym goer is not a target market), and spend $ on real influencers in that market.   It's not enough to just be another technical apparel brand ...more

cutting 75% of the stores they have left would leave them with 2.75 stores... hard to justify the management overhead they have even with only 7 stores. Off with their heads!

There is hardly any management left! Brett and Marcello are the only two listed on the management section of the website. Sure there are the directors and advisors, but they aren't burning buckets of cash

The directors and advisors are a cost. Moving forward the consultant will lead certain parts of the business with it's own team. You will see a leaner RYU. I see this as a positive.
