If this goes thru Newmont will have divested 30% I believe.
That leaves 21% to divest between now and 2010.
I wonder where local Governments will find the money for these investments. I can't see Municipal Governments in Canada coming up with this kind of money. How do they do it in Indonesia?
Similar contract clauses in SA's CoW would have a negative impact on SA's value in my opinion.
Any thoughts?
