why would someone want to sell 5 orders of 1000 and not 1 order of 5000

why buy only 3000 shares that 300 dollars

each 1000 share sell order is about a 100 dollars less commission

broker commissions are not 9.99 

say it $50 commision

why have 5 orders  ($50 x 5) =250  

why pay all that commission
