Strathcona Resources Ltd. is a Canada-based oil and gas producers with operations focused on thermal oil, enhanced oil recovery and liquids-rich natural gas. The Company has three operations: Lloydminster Heavy Oil, Cold Lake Thermal and Montney Gas. The Lloydminster Heavy Oil has multiple large oil-in-place reservoirs with existing and expanding enhanced oil recovery (EOR) opportunities primarily located in southwest Saskatchewan. Its Saskatchewan thermal properties rely on the same steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) processes as its Cold Lake Thermal properties. The Company is a producer in the Cold Lake region of Alberta. Its operations include thermal oil producing assets at Lindbergh, Orion and Tucker, with production from steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) oil assets. Its Montney development is an active region in the Montney basin, the condensate-rich Kakwa, Grande Prairie, and Groundbirch regions, and produces liquids-rich gas.

This quote explains why I have a position in Score Media. The federal Liberal government are big spenders. At the same time, rightly or wrongly, the federal gov't seems to be willing to handcuff continued development in Canada's resource sector with an increasingly ambivalent attitude to what historically has been a huge cash cow to the gov't in terms of resource royalties.

This gov't needs to find new sources of revenue to finance ever increasing spending, at a time when royalties from oil and gas resources are shrinking.

Anyone who thinks that sports betting in Canada won't be legalized in the next year or two is just not paying attention to what's happening in the world around him. GLTA!

Informative piece on the appetite for single-game betting in Canada at the moment. Looks like current Liberal government has little interest, but it seems like the Conservatives in Ontario may be pushing for it, and MP's in the NDP are in favor as well.
