RE:RE:RE:Thoughts and advice - where do we go from here? Sup Hammy,
For the purposes of this convo:
Short term - 1-3 months, or from now until actual legalization.
Medium term - legalization to legalization + 2 years.
Long Term - more than 2 years.
I think a lot of the "legalization" + hype is priced in at the moment. Would you buy theScore for half a billion given what it is now?
We very well may close higher but its hype and not true value imo. I'm not even sure where we are now is true value, and simply because, legalization is all well and good but it remains to be seen the practicality of it. The justification for legalization was to increase tax base in Canadian provinces, and to funnel gambling tax to social causes/provincial bottom line. It remains to be seen how this will break down. With this in mind, I think the actual legislation and regulation will determine the next break point for me.
Medium Term: Post legalization implementation for about 2 years. Depending on how it all shakes out I don't think we get two years past legalization without being bought out.
Long term: Rogers CEO was very bullish on the value and innovation of a sports TV and betting combo. Big players in the south, and Flutter are big on buying out operators with great market position.
