Samsun Gear experience
I wondered into a Samsung store in Toronto and founjd two empty chairs with a Gear unit on each just waiting for me to try it. I sat down, put the set on my had and pushed some button on the side when the dhair started shaiking and rolling as I rode a canoe down Niagar Falls. I was statled by the discomfort the jostling and a sales person yanhking the headset off my head.
"You have sign a waiver to use this". I singed the waiver and continued for a minute until thediscomfort overcame my curiosity. There was also a headset not connected to an electric chair which let to a more peaceful but unimpresive 3d experience. Now perhaps because of my poor vision, and not wearing my reading glasses the image was blurry, so that may be my fault. In any case, not too impressive and there was only one other person who tried the chair.
If there is Samsung store in your area see how you find their system. I have to say I was also unimpressed by the Sony basic VR I tried in the summer.
I thinkj there needs to be a killer app for VR/AR before it turns into tens of millions of unit sales. As others have said, data centers are more likely to be the key driver in any S7 success to come and I think it's coming.
