I don't know about your background or experience, but I am an electrical engineer though not an expert on signal processing. I strongly suspect that the corrections applied to singals over copper cable are fairly predictable while over the air tramsmission would be far more complex and certainly different.I should have paid more attention to that course on antennas and radio communication.
