If this development did not have something to do with S7, then we would see a patent portfolio which Macom would have developed and published over the past few years.  I see no recent patent development for linear equalizers assigned to Macom.  Their last patent for a linear equalizer dates back to 2015 and was assigned to Mindspeed.  No technical company would launch a new

it seems very unlikely to me that any new entrant to the market not supported by S7 could launch a new product line and go straight to 800G and cover every gap in between.

Sounds right, but I have heard Raouf says this is a competitive product, but I can't see how it could be better than S7's ACC products
