Sokoman Minerals Corp. > it is all about valuation

it is all about valuation

I commented about this some time ago.   The only company in New Foundland that is cheap

based on the work that they have done is Sokoman.    When you have New Found Gold trading

at a 600 million dollar valuation  and  as exciting as their project is,  you need to do valuations.

Tudor who just estimated resources at 19 million ounces of gold is trading at a valuation of 500

million dollars.   One would argue that New Found Gold has a very very very long way to go to

prove up resources like that.   I think what they have is exceptional  but to value the company

at 600 million dollars today with the work they have done is extremely overvalued.   Sokoman

trading at a fraction in terms of valuation with the work they have done and the results they

are getting is the only one in the district that is undervalued in my opinion.  Even K9  has a very

rich valuation for a company that has not even drilled a hole.   New Found in my opinion will make

lots of money for the shareholders like Pallisades and Sprott who had the company when it was

private.   They took the company public and the money they made basically gave them a risk free

way to pursue the project having passed the risk to the shareholders who came on board.  I think

the ones who got in at $1.50 certainly are happy and one could argue that is more the fair price

for this company.   At current valuations New Found seems out of whack where Sokoman

seems like an absolute steal.   No brainer if you ask me.

Hislandos  Tudor gets a lot of valuation for 19 mill oz and lots of marketing however they are next to Seabridge that 20 years ago they proved up to 40 million oz gold. SEA will never be built in my opinion as it needs 5 billion plus infrastructure built. There are lots of question I have about Tudor who have said it is a good thing they are beside SEA. The thing I see with NFG they will ...more

Quinton Henning was the first one to figuire out these structures at Fosterville. When they first brought core from NFG property he thought he was looking at Swan zone core.He is one of the directors and has 10% of the company with  Novo resources. He has skin in the game this gives NFG a lot of credibility and hence In my opinion the difference in valuation. His motto is to go big or go ...more

New Foundl Gold may know by the end of the year what they have.   At the current valuation you are basically paying for what they hope they  may find,  right here and now.     This is the difference between New Found and Sokoman  !!!! With Sokoman you are not even paying for current news  ....  it is undervalued.   As for Tudor, the Golden Triangle ...more

Agree for the most part but still have huge problem with Tudor. I have been investing in Golden Triangle for 20 years and am sad to see my GTT stock being bought out on the cheap in my opinion. The problem with Tudor it has 19 mill oz that have a good  chance of never being mined. They are very broad low grade systems.NFG and SIC are orogenic gold structures that are concentrated in ...more

LikeIke,  I do not know that much about the Golden Triangle compared to many and have a decent position in Teuton. I love Teuton becasue they sit back and twiddle their thumbs for a 20% interest plus all the royalties and other optioned properties. They also have 20M in cash and zero dilution of the 50M shares.  In any event, never is a long time. If "never" was true then ...more

Bluechipper I have followed Pascua Lama for some 30 years and first heard of it when I was in Chile. I have not checked it lately as soon as they had problem with contaminating the  wate supply of some small indiginours group that pushed it into a moratorium. Is it even  running now? Great project but when you have 2 countries that dispise each other I am not interested. Why can't ...more

At the end of the day you know all these companies,  if they achieve success,  will be swallowed up by the bigger miners.   I agree infrastructure and the costs involved make it practically  impossible for the explorers to be able to afford to go at it on their own. With it becoming more and more difficult to find ounces and considering what the price of gold and silver ...more

Do agree but NFG's 200,000m drill program is impressive!

Great post hisandlos and bring up great points however I think NFG is already too big to be bought out by a major that has no grasp of these structures. I can see NFG being  big enough by fall to buy out SIC if it does not ge some serious action. All of a sudden a market cap of 1.2 bill is very attainable. NFG already owns a good chunk of NFLD if I have it right. Newmont sat for years on ...more
