Wow, am I reading this right with that big increase in short position?  If so they're not having much effect on driving the sp down. And if we get the drill results we expect there will be a sharpe rise in sp as they try to cover. Of course if the shorts are warrant holders than they are well covered. Good luck all . If you look at the  highlighted  you can see the  shares  issued has  gone  up. The  increase is likely  includes  some of the  previous  short  position  being  execised.  If that  is  so  then  expect  to see the  shares  issued  increase again on  next report  by

CEO shows shares issued as 168.98M now so I think they've already got the updated count, maybe.

yes, a huge increase of the shorts from mid to end of April, but shorts are not necessarily a bad thing. Consider, NFG saw a pretty much similar balloon in their shorts during that time frame, too, ( 6x vs 77x +/- ) . Consequence?  Many of those shorts goat got toasted big time in just a few trading days this month so far. It's not all black or white.

Many times large short positions are exactly the opposite of what they appear. In so many instances, they are used to accumulate shares underneath. By selling short into the market, you are essentially top loading the stock. This serves two purposes 1) You're giving retail the illusion of an insurmountable price......an artificially induced resistance point. Many retail investors fall for

In many instances stocks are over hyped, and are nothing more than dogs rolling around in a bed of fleas......in these cases short positions help maintain order ie. They keep us retailers from taking a huge bath. In most cases these stocks get shorted to essentially zero, where they belong. Without

Winr, Believe me, Wisdom and experience are very easy when it comes to either the spoken word, or in writing. It is much more difficult to actually put it in to practice. As every one else,  I struggle daily with impulse. I believe that fear is the basis for most every decision in life. Greed is merely a subset of fear ie. The fear of running out of money. Nope I categorically disagree Surething. For simplicity I would suggest you become a  commodity trader. Ideally with limited funds. The swings between greed and fear becomes very palbable. Ike, The points you make are well taken, and could be debated for hours on end. Both guns, and swords depend on the content of the heart , of the one using them. Your posts are dead on, we will have a mine, the results speak for themselves, others with larger market caps and no results, are like rolling the dice.  I am happy with my position in SIC, and am not selling for a long while. Well said surething,  Talk is cheap. Actions speak louder than works as we all say. Fear however is the seed of failure and to champion fear and work from a position of strength, knowledge and understanding is success. Fear cannot be the seed of inspiration because it is connected to anger. Knowledge and understanding overcomes much and pulling the weeds of fear and anger from everyday life

Winr, I think you're saying that fear can be used as a great motivator, and with that I can completely agree. As far as moderating on stock choices, always keep your basket filled with your best stocks. There are still some out there with much promise. I think you will balance fine. Best S

Yes, short selling is definitely necessary however in the system now without the uptick rule, many good companies have been kept below fair value by short sellers. They mercilessly pennyflip and short the share price, deterring investors from buying into quality companies and keeping the SP much  lower than it should. .
