The last minute selloff is very common with SIC shares. Yes that is the short seller finding a sweet spot. What is more irksome is they borrow long shares to short sell and steal money from the long shareholder position. Without the uptick they can do this at will. Unless a company has a huge insider share holding (NFG) that are not traded, they are ripe for the picking as is Sokoman. Hopefully ...more

My shares are as tightly held as Sprott or anyone else. Short sellers do not phase me 1 bit. Drill baby drill will be the ultimate story teller here. Short sellers also scare away nervous Nellie's and tighten the float with stronger hands. Lots of consolidation lately and we absorbed a lot of warrant exercises. The uptick rule issue is a broader market issue and not applying just to SIC. i am ...more

BC -- Great posts - thank you! I just wanted to add on the short-selling issue that according to Jan. 25 update on the Save Canadian Mining website that "naked short selling" remains legal in Canada. The taskforce has recommended to the finance minister that loopholes be closed on this issue but there is no indication that action has yet been taken on same. The report can be found here ...more
