Vancouver, British Columbia, July 16, 2013 - Scott Baxter, President and CEO of Sniper Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: SIP) ("Sniper" or the "Company") announces:
Resignation of Director and Officer
Douglas McGibbon has resigned as a director and V-P Exploration effective July 15, 2013. Mr. McGibbon has served the Company faithfully since its incorporation in 2006, and the Company has benefited greatly from his expertise. Mr. McGibbon intends to remain involved in gold exploration as a private geological consultant, and as such will continue to liaise with the Sniper management team and will remain fully available to the Company on an as-required consultancy basis.
"Doug McGibbon has been my close friend for over 15 years and my closest colleague in Sniper since we started the company together in 2006" said Sniper President and CEO Scott Baxter. "During the past year, and in spite of junior explorers including Sniper being faced with increasingly difficult financial circumstances, Doug has stood strong and provided loyalty and steadfastness to both Sniper and to me. As we, along with others in our field, struggle with operating expense issues with very limited access to funding, Doug was willing to stand up and say 'Exploration activity is minimal. Cut costs here' saving the Company $120,000 per annum of administrative expense, and I especially thank him for that sacrifice. Working as closely with Doug as I have over the past seven years has been a joy and privilege, and I thank him for his service to Sniper."
