Thanks for your response - I enjoy the discussion. The name change was a good idea on their part and the market agrees. I see value in SPOT only if the metals & mining industry is in an upward trend. Since they consult in exchange for NSRs and equities in miners, they're essentially tied to the hip of their customers. Rise together, fall together. I don't have an exhaustive list, but below are some of their customers. Looking at the price charts for these over the past quarter gives some insight into the magnitude of write-downs we'll see in their portfolio on their next quarterly release. If the metals markets turn back around then I'll reassess my outlook.

  • Northstar Gold Corp. (CSE: NSG)
  • Exploits Discovery Corp. (CSE: NFLD)
  • New Found Gold Corp. (TSXV: NFG)
  • Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. (TSX: FVI)
  • Granite Creek Copper Ltd. (TSXV: GCX)
  • Tru Precious Metals Corp. (TSXV: TRU)
  • Nevada King Gold Corp. (TSXV: NKG)
  • Opawica Explorations Inc. (TSXV: OPW)
  • Prospector Metals Corp. (TSXV: PPP)
