Cool one, there you go using that ridiculous D-word again. It seems to me that "district scale" was once a term reserved to describe mineral belts that hosted numerous economic deposits...say like the Abitibi Gold belt hosting multiple world-class deposits over 100's of kilometres including the likes of those found in the Timmins and Val-d'Or areas.
But in more recent times it seems the phrase has become increasingly hijacked by the junior space to pretty much describe any kind of gold occurrences scattered over a few kilometres. Little attention is paid to the quality of these occurrences and there seems no concern as to whether any of them have been proven even remotely economic. I think the use of this phrase to describe the Plateau property can at very best be described as "in lack of moral restraint".
Mineral exploration programs are carried out on three distinctly different scales:
1. Regional scale exploration of a large area to define smaller areas that have high potential for mineralization.
2. District scale exploration to define specific areas where detailed prospecting is warranted.
3. Deposit scale exploration, which is usually directed toward defining drill targets.
I stongly believe "district scale exploration" is the most appropriate definition in this case. We already know there is gold mineralization on Plateau, the Regional scale exploration was already completed by GSR. The tools, the experience and financial power Newmont brings to the table is not to be underestimated.
Time will tell...
