RE:International Photodynamic Assoc. – Data Donation Program
Eoganacht wrote: The Education and Training Committee of the IPA is beginning a program of collecting data on photodynamic therapy from researchers to serve as a central repository of information on pdt for patients, clinicians and scientists. IPA Data Donation Program

Dear IPA Members,

We aspire to make the IPA the leading verified and reliable source of information on Photodynamic Therapy and Photodynamic Diagnosis for patients, clinicians, and scientists.

To do so, the IPA needs you!

We are looking for basic and clinical researchers willing to donate their published research data and teaching material, and make it available to the global PDT community. To start this project , we are interested in researchers sharing:

- Photosensitizer absorption and emission spectra

- Optical properties of tissues

- Standard operating procedures of basic physical-, chemical-, and biological assays as used in your group

- Standard PDT procedures for common photosensitizers (eg drug light intervals, concentrations, light dosimetry etc.)

- Standard clinical procedures as used at your institution for the various photosensitizers, this applies to approved, off label use and experimental studies.

Why donate your data?

- Standardize scientific approaches in this complex interdisciplinary field

- Elevate the quality and reproducibility of PDT research worldwide

- Gain visibility within the IPA community and funding bodies

- Obtain more citations for your published research

In order to make the data searchable in future raw data is highly preferable. As this data depository should be a teaching and educational tool as well as a resource, we would require details such as solvents, pathlengths, actual concentrations measured and instruments used.

Sources of the donated data will be clearly identified by name on the IPA website.

Please verify that transfer of the data is permitted by your institutions. When providing information from published data please provide information of the publisher (particularly for recent publications) so that the IPA can obtain permission to host some of the data.

For more information, reach out to the Education & Training Committee:

On behalf of the Board of Directors, we thank you for your help.
Members of IPA’s Education & Training Committee

As always , good catch Eoganacht

Happy friday
