Humpy Dumpy Trumpy... ....promised to rein in spending and cut the National Debt.....but oops there it is....
"I would remind the president that under President Trump's watch, we have added more debt at a faster pace than ever since World War II we have never done this. People need to know that," Manchin told WDTV on December 24.
But many economists say that Trump and the GOP-backed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 was the primary driver of the country's debt increase during the first three years of his tenure in the White House. The country's debt had already increased by more than $23 trillion by January, two months before the coronavirus pandemic took hold of the U.S. economy. When Trump took office, the national debt was at $19.95 trillion, but that increased by more than $6.78 trillion to $26.73 trillion by August of this year.
