You may want to use the word "accept" rather than "except" but far be it from me as an old guy to judge you on new concepts in speaking these days.
As an example of something that is complete stupidity to me, the House (Nancy) passed a bill to eliminate the use of words such as father, mother, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, i.e. identity pronouns? You must only use Parents, Siblings, or Parent's Siblings. I may be old but boy I will never be that stupid and I hate to have to admit Nancy is in my age group.
You have probably heard also an elderly Congressman who opened Congress with a prayer and wanting to be on the "woke" bandwagon closed the prayer with the common term "Amen" but felt compelled to also add "Awomen". Now that's classic.
I guess you can no longer go to the "Men's Room" or "Women's Room" either. Pictures only maybe.

I did not hear what the plan is for Grandmother & Grandfather but I guess both get referred to as Grandparent -- assuming they don't kill us all off with covid before the term has to be used.
I wonder what effect it might have on outfits such as Ancestry.com and their family trees, etc. In the whole scheme of things I wonder if anyone has put a price tag on all of this -- as opposed to doing something useful in Congress.
And i will love to see the board lefties come out in support of this great legislation.
