If it was legit and you did want to lighten your posirion by 271K, you wouldn't put it all out there at once because it would scare many buyers. You would put 1/3, or 1/4 at a time. If someone put a bid of 100K up you could put a 100K ask, but other than a situation like that, I think this is done for a reason, and a big short would easily have that much to offer.
