RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Dr. Black article on Phase 2 Trial of AtezolizumabIt's always been 2 steps forward, one step back with Theralase. But that slow progress has got us a hair's breadth away from an FDA cancer treatment approval.
To get here Theralase has been reduced to implementing a hiring freeze, a new initiative freeze, an employee cut back to a skeleton crew and they are now reliant on hand-to-mouth financing just to keep going. I believe Theralase is erring on the side of caution with respect to letting out information to the public. They can't afford another OSC complaint at this point because of some injudicious word choice.
Everything is riding on this trial. If it succeeds they can write their own ticket. If it fails, I'm not sure there is a way forward.

I also believed management would have a lot of vested interest in being successful. Big names on the SAB. Well, that company has essentially folded into a provider of IPs. I was invested for 15 years with only losses to show for it. They could not execute to timelines nor raise money in a respectable way. The difference with TLT is that they at least have FTD and a phase 1 done. But everything else feels the same. Especially the inability to raise cash in a better way and what seems like a tendency to gloss over delays like it was always expected (or at least NOT being explicit about a delay being a delay in an NR). I also think their BOD should have had new and experienced faces a long time ago but without data, it was probably hard to attract namebrand talent. So if we give them the benefit of the doubt for being a scrappy startup that is trying to go it alone for 15 years, is it too much to expect better and transparent communications as the ONE ask? It goes back to the trust issue you mentioned. If next week they say BTD is delayed or give some kind of sloppy timeline update, it will prove my point. Let's hope it's not the case. Let's hope it's the announcement of BTD+AA.

There have been times in the last 9 years when I have questioned the wisdom of some of the actions of Theralase management, but I have never questioned their good faith. I believe Theralase management is doing it's level best to advance the interests of the company and it's shareholders. If I didn't believe this I don't know how I could stay invested. The science may be great but if you can't trust the people running things why would you risk your money on their decisions?
I'm sure there is a good reason BTD was delayed because I'm sure that, just like us, management would like nothing better than to be granted BTD and AA as soon as possible.
