It can be combined with intravesical chemotherapy with mitomycin C, providing a more potent tumoricidal effect [55]. In the rare cases where the tumor is located in a bladder diverticulum, focal PDT can be used to eradicate the disease without risk of perforation [55]. PDT can also be repeated in patients who have received previous therapy or who are receiving radiotherapy or chemotherapy [58] without contraindication.
