HORTON DISCOVERY 2023

HORTON DISCOVERY 2023

HALF OUNCE GOLD & 60 OUNCES SILVER/TON

In September and October of 2023, Taranis investigated several electromagnetic anomalies located over 300 m west of the known Thor epithermal deposit. These were previously not a high priority as they were 'off-trend' of the main deposit. A May 2022 airborne survey confirmed several previously documented EM anomalies and consequently were deemed a high-priority to explore in 2023. Taranis personnel uncovered a number of high-grade boulders at surface. Although the source of the high-grade boulders has not yet been found in bedrock, it offers compelling evidence for an extremely high-grade vein system. This target has been suspected for a considerable length of time, but this is the first concrete evidence of Western Deeps being the faulted-off upper portion of the main Thor deposit.

All of the boulders overlay conductors found in the subsurface, and many of the boulders show pronounced weathering such as the piece shown in the image to the left. This type of weathering is characteristic of the main Thor deposit where the epithermal deposit has been exposed at surface, and the siderite and other carbonates have been weathered-out of the vein. It creates a characteristic box-work texture. Similar occurrences can be seen at the True Fissure open pit and in SIF Carbon.

Soon, a new season of discovery begins  . . .
