RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Goliath is a much better buy than the three Amigos IMO As I posted earlier, three of the five largest mines in the world use block caving.  Also five of the ten largest.  See earlier post for a link.

Initial planning on Goldstorm will use block caving.  Contrary to what you claim, block cave mining has become a regular form of mining,  Within the GT alone, it is or planned to be used at the New Afton mine, Red Chris and KSM.  Other projects where block caving is under consideration include Galore Creek, Schaft Creek and Tatogga.  See earlier Resource World link. The companies involved in these GT projects include Newcrest, Newmont, Teck and your beloved Seabridge.

cskhurasu wrote: There is no block cave that can compete cost wise with KSM's low strip open pits. Block caving works under very specific conditions...the orebody must be essentially vertical, the rock must have specific mechanics that allow it to crack and mine itself and the ore still needs to come to surface for milling so deep is not good. Note that very few mining companies do it. The world's largest, BHP, will not touch block caving. Neither does Barrick.
