As for the election polling, even if you have your reasons to be a committed Trump voter, if you are reasonable surely you’ll agree he is a pathological liar, often for no reason other than ego and vanity, trolling, boasting. The stupid lies - the majority vote in 2016, the inauguration crowd, the dumb sharpiegate hurricane map ... why? Maybe the pollsters are at a bit of a disadvantage if a material portion of the people they poll play follow the deplorable example and have no qualms about lying to strangers for political advantage. It is politics run like a reality game show ... lies, no problem!
I think it is pretty sad that conservatives are saddled with Trump. Maybe a 46th President can generate a little more respect across the divide. It would cheer up the whole world to see Americans demonstrate greater common purpose and respect for one another.
