RE:RE:RE:Stockzorg & bovalena I think some Americans do not fully accept the responsibility that rests with the United States to lead the world in large part created by their economy and military influence from WW2 to today.
America is not an island unto itself. It is a key player in a global economy, in global security, in global ecology. So when foreigners take an interest in American politics it isn’t to interfere, it is to witness the direction of world leadership that very much affects all of humanity.
The former CIA Director John Brennan has been quite outspoken about the decline of an age of science, expertise and reason in the United States being supplanted by tribalism, nationalism, a rejection of education and expertise in favour of emotion-motivated opinion, mostly driven by anxiety and stress, and a constant bombarding of false and manipulated information.
Today is a step in return to reason, fact, moderation, professionalism and a toned-down rhetoric. For me the number one sigh of relief is additional political pressure to accelerate global energy modernization and technological and scientific advancements to create a cleaner modern global industrial economy.
Be positive. The world can be poised on a new era of advancements in science and engineering, global cooperation, and better lives for everybody.
On Trump ... link below is an interesting read: much of what Brennan predicted has already taken place.
And permit a small, skin-of-the-teeth “Joe wins. I told you so.” Those lawsuits are bunk. cg
