Funny old market

Yesterday most of the volume was played out between $1.45 and $1.49. No change in the price of Gold overnight, yet this morning someone through house 13 (Instinet) drives the price down with a pre-open offer 'at the market' of 8k shares which was taken out at $1.38. No patience or keeping the price low ? Hmmmmm. I don't like anomalies.
