longterm investor with TVI

I have a crazy question for "Rooster".Not sure if  I should ask: I love Cliff and own tons of TVI shares but....Example:Canadian comp ,OSI Geospatial,(OSI-T),provided leading navigational software to U.S. navy,British navy,US coastguard ect. ect....news got better with many more contracts going into 2009.Price had fallen in 2008 from .80 to .09 dispite great monthly news releases.(2008 crash I thought.) Then price gradually rose to.40 in 2009 under huge daily volume  .I thought  great !Then next day it fell to .06 cents.A US company had accumulated majority of shares and brought OSI private ! I had paid an average .50 cents per share. They said my choice was to sell my 350,000 shares at .06 cents or own 1.5 shares of the private company. I sold at .06 cents.Never saw it coming.Could anything like this happen to TVI.

Abusive "takeunders" or as i call them "f***overs" such as you describe are unusual in Canada because of minority shareholder right laws, but they have happened (they are many jurisdictions in the world with much weaker protections, including certain US states such as Indiana).  Usually, the worst thing one need fear in Canada is a zero-premium or low-premium offer made at ...more

No question is crazy, unless asked by Kutch. IMO for what is worth...I cant see any investor or vulture funds securing majority shares of TVI.They would have to  accumilate over 355 M shares and all it would get them is 15.6% of TVIRD. Based on share volume traded over the last 10 years, i dont see that. Personally I am confident that we will see a share price appreciation once plans for ...more

Rockingrooster, What do you think TVI Pacific is worth per share? This should be rising now! I don't understand why more people are not interested in it. It should have more daily volume than what it does. Perhaps we need to promote it more on Facebook and Stocktwits.

We will have 3 rd quarter results out mid November ,showing strong Agata performance.Balabag will probably not be part of fins till year end results. TVI share price inactivity IMO is due to the unknown fact of what is 30.66% of TVIRD really worth ? TVIRD IPO  listing on the PSE will of course answer this.Considering TVIRD's assets market cap shoulld be substantial. My projected pps, 1 ...more

I agree with you. There has to be a way to get the word out about TVI Pacific. I suggest Facebook stock groups and Stocktwits. We have very little activity on both. I have held shares for the last 11 years. Thanks for your reply!

This is not that dissimilar from what happened with MIO (Mindoro) which was partnered with TVI.  PAVI, a wealthy Phillipino group  (which is a partner in TVIRD I think) bought into MIO, took them private, and left shareholders with $0.  I lost a lot of money on that deal, and didn't fully understand (still don't) what happened there.  There is a risk of this happening ...more

Finally, someone else "gets it"!

Actually, d1, I'm sure you've "gotten it" all along, so forgive my presumption you just now arrived at this epiphany.

You gave some wonderful thoughts! What do you think TVI Pacific is worth per share? Do you think a buyout is coming?
