Nuclear power, anybody hear the 1949 story?You guy talk about Nuclear power, guess what. The next time you hear about a new reactor. We are still stuck using the most dangerous and hard to contorl reactor design. Because of what happen in 1949. There are five different reactor types. The only reason that we use the one are using is because it can be used in a submarine and a DOD memo that said all reactors used by DOD had to be this type because we were still building nuclear bombs and they need the fuel. For the next 70 plus year DOD would only fund research on this type of reactor. The one we should be using for land is a thormium reactor. You SCAM it and it shuts down, the temp spike to 850 and then cools. It does not explose or meltdown. Also the nuclear reaction uses 95% of the fuel and the left over is innert. But nobody want to use it because you can't make a bomb out of it.
