Boring engineering stuff, balance, rich vs rich rich!

Welcome to a cold damp morning in the NW,
I turned seventy last summer.  I have a beloved family cat that just turned 114 (in cat years).  The cat is sick and may or may not come back from the next vet visit.  I got a lady friend that called me up and told me that the Doc had given her the long face.  She wanted help getting her affairs in order.  I remember her as a slim sexy stawberry blonde that collected broken boy toys to fix.  She paid the bills working for a charity and selling her paintings to the summer tourists.  I still got the one she give me.  In the late 90's her folks died and left her a chunk of money.  She freaked, never had that much money before.  She ask me to help invest it.  Fast forward to today and her whole family it freaking out over how much money is in the account.  She had never opened an account statement.  Just put them in a box in the hall closet.  I tell this story to make this point.  Life is short and goes by fast.  Enjoy it while you can.
Ucore stuff, Pat has told everybody what Ucore is doing this fall.  Ucore is doing the boring engineering stuff that make RSX better than SX.  Like recycling the acids to reuse instead of dumping it like the chinese.  Most of us have seen the early teens picture from space of the dead zone around a SX plant.  How long is it going to take?  Longer that we want.  I make this point, we all wish Ucore to do well in testing the DOD's mixed concertrate.  The better this testing goes the more money DOD will give to Ucore.  To have the best testing, Ucore need to have the Demo plant tuned to max efficiency and that my fellow stockholders takes time.  Will the stock price go down while we wait, more than likely.  So you have a choice, buy more at a very low price.  Sell and take the tax loss or sit on what you have and enjoy life and family.  It goes by quick.

Balance, Pip, Rod and Bob paint a very negative picture of Ucore.  I don't know if they are doing this to drive down the price to buy more or just very impatient.  Pip, says he is a realist but have very little balance to his view.  Lot of negative but where is the positive side?  Oh, I guess that is what I am here for.  Why if Ucore is so bad do they not sell out and take the tax loss?  Like the rest of us they have hope.  That RSX is what Ucore saids it is and that Ucore can make it to the finish line without another reverse split or RO.  We are in the last leg of the race.  Once Ucore starts testing DOD's mixed concertrate they can start drawing on that 4 million award.

Rich vs rich rich: The summer I turned 11 I spend part of the summer with my grandfather's banker,  Mr Crab.  He came from around Greece.  His last name was unpronounciable but was crab in his dialect.  So everybody called him Mr Crab.  My grandfather callled him Crabbie.  He was a friend of my grandfather for 40 years.  He had a nice house on a full section of Kansas farm land.  I got my own room, instead of the attic loft at grandpa.  The part I remember the most was the two acre fish pond with a covered dock.  Great for swiming or fishing.  I was there to learn about money.  I bring this up because when Ucore takes off some us will be sitting on more money then we have ever had.  I quote Mr Crab, "Becoming rich is easy, once you know how.  The really hard part is staying rich."  As an example 65% of lotto winners that take the big pay out are broke or worst in 5 years.
So I offer some of Mr Crab's advice.
When the money hits, don't do anything for six months but plan, dream.  Get use to the idea that you have that much money.
Plan each spend like your life depended on it, it may.
Give anonymously, If known you become a target with lot of people asking for more of your money.
Use the 4% rule.  If 4% of the money equals your net salary it is time to retire.
Draw from tax free accounts first, let your heirs pay the taxes.  That one is mine.
Big money is not something you brag about.  If known you will have more family and friends that want to spend your money for you.
You can be rich or you can be stupid rich on your way to being broke.
There is more but it is on choices for investing, of that group this one is one that I like.  Quietly pay  off house, cars, and debts.  No big parties went done.  Just go about life debt free.
I have to go take care of the cat.  So long for now.

Dragon no tax loss.  In retirement acct realist?   U bet I am.    Pat will need to finance at least half of SMC with dilution.   That's from his pdfs during CC.  How is that happening with a 43 cents pps?   Pps will be back in the teens yeah, I am trying to get it to go down?   Ucore has done a bang up job doing that all by itself. wish it wasn't ...more

If Pat delivers multiples of gains, shareholders will get rich & happy. But if, as promised, he delivers multiples and multiples of gains, they will get stupid rich & might f themselves up.

Dear Bob, One of the guys that I worked with in the shipyard won the lotto, 7 million.  He listen to his wife and took the big pay out.  Had big party for the win.  Bought house on time, cars, trips.  I see him three years later working in the shipyard.  Devorced, bankrupt and living in a trailer west of town.  The only thing he had left was a nice watch from that ...more
