Bitumen produced from extraction is typically 60% bitumen, 30% water, and 30% fine solids. From there, Froth treatment occurs to seperate the water and solids. This PLS, I would assume, is then run through MRT to gain value added materials.
So, i can't remember if this was a private conversation with Mark or in another press release. I recall that the Oil Sands PLS qualified for MRT separation. However, the MOSP advised that they would work to refine the PLS further (less carbon content) so the process would be even more efficient or cost effective to run through MRT.
