VANCOUVER, Canada - Urastar Gold Corp. ("Urastar" or the "Company") (TSX-V:URS) (OTCQX: URNRF) announces the appointment of Mr. Adrian Robertson, P.Eng. (currently a director of the Company), as President and CEO of the Company. The appointment follows the resignation of Mr. Tom Kennedy as interim CEO. Mr. Kennedy will continue as Corporate Secretary of the Company.
Mr. Robertson is a professional engineer with "life of mine" experience ranging from exploration and financing through production and reclamation. Mr. Robertson's previous work experience includes positions with Vale (formerly Inco Ltd.), Teck, Golder Associates and TVX Corp. In addition to his responsibilities with Urastar, Mr. Robertson is also a director of Meadow Bay Gold Corporation (TSX:MAY).
Mr. Robertson has worked closely with the Mexican property owners of the La Juliana, El Jabali and El Antimonio claim groups during his tenure with Urastar - "I'm very excited about the potential for Urastar to significantly advance our Mexican gold properties in 2012.
