VICTHOM ENTERS INTO COLLABORATIVE DEVELOPMENT
AGREEMENT WITH A U.S.-BASED MEDICAL DEVICE LEADER
Quebec City, Quebec (Canada), Tuesday, October 11, 2005 – Victhom Human
Bionics Inc., "Victhom" (TSX: VHB) announces today that they have entered into a
collaborative contract research agreement with one of the world leader in the Medical
Device market to develop an advanced implantable stimulation product to address
growing medical market opportunities. The platform behind this innovative product
development program is Victhom’s Bionic Closed-Loop System (CLS) and, under the
terms of the collaboration, will also integrate technologies from Victhom’s new U.S.-
based partner.
Potential markets that could be addressed using Victhom’s Bionic CLS include, among
others, bladder control, digestive tract stimulation and chronic pain management. As
previously disclosed, Victhom is actively conducting its development activities for the use
of the Bionic CLS to address the urinary incontinence market.
Financial terms, name of the partner and details of the development plan will not be
disclosed at this time for competitive reasons.
