Finally, my favorite story of the week is from an unlikely suspect, Apple. The FDA granted their #AFib detection feature within the Apple watch a new qualification through its Medical Device Development Tools program. This feature is now the first #digitalhealth technology qualified to provide estimates of AFib burden (amount of AFib a person experiences in a quantitative measure) for clinical studies, pre and post ablation procedures. There is no doubt this market is booming as the next frontier in #cardiovascular intervention. I am most excited about the empowerment to all individuals these innovations can offer.
