The pit location is fixed, as successive drilling and metallurgical testing programs by

various mining companies in the past several decades have demonstrated the

viability of the project based on the mining of the pit as outlined. The only other site

that is sufficiently delineated for mining lies about two kilometres northeast of the

current pit and is split among a variety of owners.
