I was thinking the same thing after reading the satvir letter. Maybe not a deal, but at least an offer that was conditional on the existing board being intact to finalize it? Either way, I'll vote yellow once i get my proxy letter which should be soon judging by comments from everyone else.

Yellow for me as well.  My personal felling is that the dissidents "ARE" crooks, I don't just think they are.  They are simply trying to buy up the company at $2.50/share, wait a few months and make the sweetheart deal for $4.00+/share to turn a huge profit.  Anyone that falls for that plan shouldn't be here in the first place.   Pason.

It's very unlikely that a sale would be completed by the AGM; deals like this can take months to complete, especially due diligence which would take at least 2 months. It's possible that there could be some indicative offers or term sheets by then, but both Jeff and Lawrence from IR suggested this could take 3-6 months.

true normally but this is very unique>
Comment by pandnh4 on Sep 05, 2012 5:35pm
How is this unique?  Typical due diligence for just a single project often takes around 2 months (without even closing or financing), and much longer for a portfolio of projects.  We're talking about a whole company being sold for at least $200 million (hopefully much more). If you're hoping for an annoucement of a sale being completed by the AGM, that's pretty unrealistic ...more

What is "Red Card" ?
Comment by Probability on Sep 05, 2012 11:25pm
How is this a unique situation ? Are you serious? Are there usually a group trying to take power to sell asap , With the current powers dealing with 3 potential buyers So say Savitar secured BAM and BAM votes green and they get power ..... they have their buyer So Jeff and crew have potential buyers who may not be given the same priority as Savitars if Savitar gets power seems unique The CEO might ...more
Comment by pandnh4 on Sep 05, 2012 11:33pm
Sure, that part is unique...  but this will not result in a quicker sale process.  No sophisticated buyer is going to drop hundreds of millions of dollars with less than 3-6 months of due diligence, negotiation, financing discussions, etc...  And believe me, Brookfield is sophisticated.  One could argue that a quick sale would be possible if the price was dirt cheap, but that ...more

True I understand what you are saying , we just happen to be in a crazy one this article makes me think Jeff needs to give us a taste before the votehttps://www.forbes.com/sites/tomkonrad/2012/09/04/savitrs-new-ally-in-the-western-wind-energy-proxy-fight/

Oh I never thought there would be a closed sale be the end of Sept ... look at my previous posts all I have said is we will get a minimum $2.25https://www.forbes.com/sites/tomkonrad/2012/09/04/savitrs-new-ally-in-the-western-wind-energy-proxy-fight/

Article is a geek simplistic prima facie report by a writer with no information.  Amarillo!
Comment by peter75 on Sep 06, 2012 7:53am
Sometimes people write things because they are told to,watch for a follow up article that takes on another slant  Forbes likes to read there own articles. Nobody has a real idea as to how Brookfield will vote or Aline. people need to remember others are looking to buy this firm and that in itself will keep low ballets from stealing this firm others have written that the process will take ...more

Well if you are going to invest being open to all angles will make you money . Being subjective will lose you money more often than not The writer is long WND as per their dislosure , and has written articles on an ongoing basis on WND WHAT DO YOU MEAN BAM HAS CLEARLY SIDED WITH SAVITAR .......WOW !
Comment by pandnh4 on Sep 06, 2012 9:34am
Exactly!!!  Need to be objective and look at it from all angles.  Hopes and prayers don't make you money...
Comment by Probability on Sep 06, 2012 9:42am
Well I got back into this at $1.77 and have stated I expect $2.50 After BAMs purchase it became apparent that $2.50 is highly probable $2.25 minimum certain and most likely closer to $3 My perception is clear ... I expected to hold to January so I have no clue what you are refering to Looks like Obama is going to get re-elected .... extending tax credit another 10 years brings so much value to ...more

I was just approving your comments!  Some ppl on this board are perhaps a little too subjective sometimes with their comments.  Nothing wrong with a little optimism, but it needs to be tempered with facts and reality...

Got the yellow in the mail last night - a company wishing to buy WND would most likely make their offer earlier than years end based on that tax credit extension .......... Obama wants it for wind power ... Romney not so much .. depends who looks like they will take the presidency
