Significant Gold Intercepts in the North Austin Zone

Earlier this week, West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. (Ticker WRLG.v or WRLGF for US investors)  shared promising results from the initial round of underground drilling at its wholly-owned Madsen Mine in the Red Lake Gold District of Northwestern Ontario, Canada.

Since the initiation of underground drilling in September, West Red Lake Gold Mines has completed 848 meters of Exploration drilling and 3,369 meters of Definition drilling. A total of 70 diamond drill holes for 4,217 meters have been completed, with fire and metallic screen assays returned for 65 holes.

Highlights from the Project's North Austin Zone include one hole which intersected 10.28 meters at 27.15 g/t Au, including an impressive 1 meter at 226.85 g/t Au. Other notable results include an 8.5-meter intersection that returned 22.31 g/t Au, including 0.55 meters at 186.56 g/t Au an.

The North Austin Zone, situated adjacent to current underground development, is identified as a high-priority expansion target for potential early development during the mine restart and production phase. Notably, the zone remains open down-dip and along strike to the northeast, signalling considerable growth potential.

Shane Williams, President & CEO, highlighted the strategic significance of the North Austin area, emphasizing its proximity to existing underground infrastructure and its potential as a high-grade expansion target.

At the property's Wedge deposit, 11 diamond drill holes for 2,995.5 meters have been completed with highlights including 3 meters at 5.50 g/t Au, 1.35 meters at 10.10 g/t Au, and 1 meter at 13.63 g/t Au.

Going forward, West Red Lake Gold Mines' focus for the Madsen Mine is centered on the expansion of the current mineral resource. The company plans to continue drilling in the more continuous and higher-grade portions of the Austin, South Austin, and North Austin Zones throughout 2024.
