First thing. Yfi didn't coinvent DCW. It was invented by Cablelabs as evidenced on the patent. All Yfi did was write the code for one of the variants. Which any decent coder could do.
On to your lame comparison. MLO is nothing like DCW. MLO uses multiple frequencies over a single radio to deliver higher bandwidth and lower latency. DCW uses multiple radios to deliver better performance. For every new channel in DCW you need another radio. Which is the big difference. DCW remains a huge nothingburger because client devices like phones and tablets only have one radio and therefore can not accommodate the tech requirement. No one has announced adding another radio because it's clearly not going to be required and it would only add more cost to devices. So no, DCW can't be implemented today. And it won't be implemented tomorrow or the next day. It's a NOTHINGBURGER and always will be.
LOL, you'd think doofus would learn to not post tech related items but I guess he thinks using an alt ID makes it OK. What an azzhat.
What I would like to see is a face to face discussion between Luther Smith and Leo on the subjects of Dual Channel and Spectrum Slicing and wireless tech in general, and after that, if Leo comes out as the most knowledgeable in the technology then I may be inclined to believe half of what he explains here. In the meantime seeing as Luther has the job of CTO for CableLabs and is the noted "inventor" of more than one invention in wireless technology I will have to lean towards him as being the more knowledgeable and is likely not getting a "nothingburger" patented. The patent is already approved and will be officially issued on May 3rd. I doubt you will see the word "nothingburger" in the associated documentation.
But then maybe Leo is actually the subject matter expert in the USPTO and will issue it under that title -- we'll have to watch for it! :-))
