I may be wrong, however have you considered that the reason for, the timing, and the performance results of the POC in 2021, and the ensuing pilot may have painted a bigger picture of past intervening events than some are willing to discuss.
We know during this period that we had DOCSIS3, and DOCSIS4 was under development. We are also aware of the development of 10G. We are also aware that CLs` developed Dual Channel Wi-Fi for existing single channel wi-fi architectures. I am sure by know you have read the astounding increase in performance for single channel wi-fi when tested with this open source software app.
Were you at all curious as to why the single channel wi-fi industry never talked about it? If you were part of that industry, would you blow the apps` horn knowing that lurking in the back there was another technology that could boost that performance by adding another 11 channels? Of course not!
So, if you were one of the wi-fi users who were totally disatisfied with wi-fi performance during the years before the POC, how would you feel about an industry that was either ignorant for years of the availability of an antidote alternative technology, or knowingly continued to foster your user grief by leveraging their brand power against your interests? It was not like YFI was in hiding for 5 years.
Now, a fun fact I ask you this. When was the last time that you read posts by critics of YFI who claim expertise and objective, impartial opinions, who ever questioned anything about the status quo who happened to be the other technology spectrum slicing was compared to. Test facilities used by YFI were heavily questioned, but those by the status quo were not. The fact that no major company had acknowledged YFIs` technology was heralded, but when Liberty Global did, it was dismissed.
