Eléonore royalty and Franco-Nevada

I'm looking forward to know how Franco-Nevada will deploy the money (500M$) . Will they target VGQ royalty on Eléonore ? We will know pretty soon! By the way, I attended the last AGM in June
and what caught my attention was about Eléonore once again..... Mr Gaumond said that in fact Goldcorp built 2 mines to develop the deposit. It will give them a lot more flexibility to produce Au.
We were being told also that Goldcorp expect to be there  for the next 30 years, do they talk about Eléonore deposit, more discoveries on the huge property ( 5%  of the territory have been explored) or with new discoveries from other juniors in the area ?

Goldcorp is building a 1.5km shaft under the ground while the deepest exploration result released so far is 900m deep......... What does that mean to you? As far as I'm concerned it is pretty bullish to say the least.

Mr46, Do you think that G can afford to let FN walk away with this 30-50 year royalty? Of course, I would like to see a bidding war among all comers, but G would appear to be remiss, if they do not take it down. Kind Regards, JA

Goldcorp can match any bid Virginia could get from any suitor. When VIA sold the deposit to G in 2006 I thought it would put a cap to the value of the royalty . In 2012 ,I learned a suitor could avoid the right of first refusal given to G by making a takeover of VGQ . The royalty is good for any new discovery to be found on the whole property bought by G from Virginia in 2006.  ...more
