POI has gold in James BayHere's what I found on SEDAR while doing some research on Pro-Or (POI-X). In their 1998 annual report, before they put all the focus on Chromite, they give more info:
"The company’s Lake Ménarik property in James Bay hosts a chromite-palladium-platinum deposit which is unique in North America. It has also been shown to have considerable potential for gold, copper and nickel. According to the geologist in charge of the Ménarik Project for Pro-Or, the resources of chromite could be greater than 30 million tons, with an average grade of 8.7% Cr2O3. The value of the chromiferous deposit is considerably increased by the concomitant presence of sequences of platinum group metals (PGM) with grades between 1.5 to 5 grams per ton. As mentioned above, the property is also of considerable interest for gold, copper and nickel. Sampling carried out by Pro-Or in recent years uncovered 62 indications of gold mineralisation from which selected samples had gold grades that ranged from 1 to 59 g/t. Furthermore, samples with copper-nickel mineralisation have also been discovered with a combined grade of 4.5% along with PGM grades of up to 6 g/t.
